Acoustic Blues Brothers was a Swiss blues duo formed between two established musicians: Dinu Logoz (vocals, harmonica, guitar) and Rolf ‘LL’ Lüthi (guitars, vocals). The duo formed in 1996 (coinciding with Logoz founding Blue Nose Records).
Dinu Logoz began playing piano at 8, and picked up guitar & harmonic at 14. At the age of 20, he founded “Freeway 75”, which was a leading blues band in Switzerland, and the first to release an album. In addition, Logoz toured with other performers, such as Champion Jack Dupree, Driving Wheel, Obeljam, Travis Haddix and The Harlem Ramblers. He also did recordings with Che & Ray, Alexis Homer, Climax Blues Band among many others.
Rolf ‘LL’ Lüthi began playing music at the age of 9, and is known as a well-versed guitarist of one of Switzerland’s top acts Polo Hofers Sehmetterding and also thanks to his own CD Sunny Side Up, where you can hear the cream of the Swiss blues and rock scene like Polo Hofer, Yvonne Moore, musicians from the groups Span and Bluesaholics as well as Dinu Logoz. But also bands like Rainheart or Soulin’ Crash took advantage of his great skills as a guitar player. His work as a studio musician and arranger can be found in over 60 albums, with two of his own being solo works. He worked within the genres of blues, folk, and country.
For ten years Lüthi and Logoz performed the blues together as the unplugged duo Acoustic Blues Brothers throughout Switzerland. From 1996 until 2006, they toured and performed regularly. Logoz and Lüthi have since retired from performing.
