Cold Velvet is the third studio album by the German melancholic heavy metal band The Night Eternal, released on 21 August 2026 via Metal Blade Records.
The band blends traditional 1970s and 1980s guitar-driven heavy metal with a dark, gloomy Goth-rock atmosphere. Music critics often compare their signature sound to a mix of classic Mercyful Fate, In Solitude, and Ghost.
Cold Velvet was recorded between May and December 2025 at Church Of Sound Studios near Munich. It was produced and mixed by Michael Zech, a well-known metal guitarist and producer.
