Marking nearly 40 years since the band’s original formation as Black Death, the album finds multi-instrumentalist Fenriz and vocalist/guitarist Nocturno Culto diving deeper into a raw, archaic metal style. Fenriz described the title as a "vibe" and a "statement that we use old style to create something new".
