Evil Wave by ι θ
(Obituary Hermit), released April 2, 2025, is a moody, spectral journey through fractured audio and uneasy beauty.
The album unfolds in nine movements β from The Book of the Dead to Outro β exploring liminal spaces with textures of distortion, muted whispers, and haunting loops.
Each piece feels like a halfβremembered ritual or a signal bleeding between worlds.
There is no loud proclamation or climactic burst. Instead, Evil Wave moves by tension, erosion, and subtle shifts: the skittish Boomstick skit interrupts seriousness with sharp dissonance, while Escape from the Deadites and SβMart lean into horrorβfilm allusion, reframed in broken tones.
The title track, Evil Wave, stretches toward eight minutes, becoming the emotional and sonic heart β layers of sound drifting in and out of coherence, voices trapped in decay.
The closing Outro doesnβt resolve so much as recede, leaving a residue of static, memory, and lingering unease.
