The thing that for me really sets this album apart from so many other historical style concept albums is the restraint shown by the band and it’s song-writing. Where many bands create music that really just sounds like movie scores with heavier guitar lines running through them, this is a true concept metal album, created to brilliant effect, showcasing focused musicianship, and story writing. Shadows Over Lothadruint has a mix of good and evil, light and dark, which overcomes the other, you’ll have to listen for yourself, but it’s a corker of a journey though a magnificent story.
A début album with this quality content becomes a gauntlet thrown down for other bands, showing just how powerful these Italians could become, a real future force to be reckoned with. The future is bright for Wind Rose --- metalmouth.net
