It is the follow-up to their breakthrough album Screamadelica, and is a massive departure in sound from that album. Whereas Screamadelica was a primarily a psychedelic album, Give Out But Don't Give Up is influenced by classic rock and blues. The cover image is from seminal American photographer William Eggleston.
