For Miami-based MC QuESt, it’s all about “Fear Not Failure.” That’s his motto in life, and, appropriately, the name of his first proper, full-length release album, which is available now. “I just want people to shed their fears and embrace their failures,” says QuESt. “We fail every single day. Failure doesn't stop us from what we desire. But fear can literally prevent you from everything you want to achieve and more.”
QuESt first popped onto the radar in 2009 as champion of the “Survival of the MCs” contest, where he beat out 660 other hip-hop artists to win a first-look deal with industry mogul Jermaine Dupri and the then-newly-formed TAG Records. After seeing the label fold only a few months later,QuESt maintains a positive attitude about the whole experience. “I learned the process of ‘making it’ isn't a ‘one-two, buckle my shoe’ chess move. It takes hard work and dedication. You have to genuinely love this and have a desire to achieve greatness if you're going to survive in this game.”
