Zeitkratzer is a collective of soloists who are called to perform the most modern avant-garde and experimental music. It was founded in 1999 and is led by Reinhold Friedl. The band’s absolute independence whose premise is self-funding allows for total openness and uncompromisingness in terms of the choice of repertoire and partners. Among the latter were Karlheinz Stockhausen, Lou Reed, Keiji Haino, La Monte Young or Merzbow. Music of Zeitkratzer breaks all the genre rules and goes beyond the borders of every musical aesthetics.
